Internal Medicine specialist Dr. Keith Cobb developed all of the skills necessary to become a doctor without leaving the state of Georgia. He was born in Glennville, GA and grew up in Greenville, GA. He received his undergraduate’s degree in music from Georgia Southern University, but later achieved his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in 1993. There, he received the Jacques Scholarship Award. He also received the resident of the year award during the final year of his residency in Savannah where he also obtained an internship. It is no wonder that Dr. Cobb decided to continue his work in the state of Georgia. It’s his home.

The inspiration behind why Dr. Cobb decided to become a doctor also stretches back to his Georgia roots. The small-town doctor who treated Dr. Cobb when he was growing up became his mentor. Dr. Cobb decided to model his education after this doctor and selected internal medication as his specialty. Since then, he has become a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He became an officer at the American Associate of Medical Review and an Aviation Medical Examiner.

Dr. Cobb recognizes that medicine is not the only way you can solve problems. He also believes in the power of words to heal and alleviate pain and suffering. A distraught couple came to visit Dr. Cobb one day; their two adult children had passed away in a car accident that very morning. After prescribing them the proper medicine to help calm their nerves, Dr. Cobb realized he had no resources that he could pass along to help them cope with this terrible grief wreaking havoc in their lives. Dr. Cobb decided to write his own book that could be used as such a resource. Thus, The Grief Survival Handbook was born. The book discusses the process of grief and offers several coping mechanisms to use in the face of grief.

In April 2011, The Grief Survival Handbook was the top pick read in World Magazine and was featured in several public radio stations across America and even Ireland. The book can be purchased here but is also available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Sony Books in both print and Kindle versions. Outside of writing this book, Dr. Cobb also appeared as a guest writer for Maria Shriver.com and The Huffington Post.

Dr. Cobb doesn’t just spend his time practicing medicine or writing books. He also plants cotton during his weekends and is the vice chairman of the Savannah Salvation Army Board. His large family also keeps him preoccupied. Dr. Cobb and his wife Amy Cobb have six beautiful children who range from following in their father’s footsteps by practicing medicine to working as a youth pastor to finishing up college.

Dr Cobb has been my Internal Med Doctor for over 12 years. I trust him 100%! He is by far the most kind hearted and patient doctor I have ever seen. I also love that he has same day appointments available if your sick and need to see him urgently…. You have to call at 8am promptly to get one because they only have a few but I have never had problem when calling right at 8am. I saw him today because I was sick. He saw me with no issue. Dr Cobb was his usual genuine self. Even though it was towards the end of the day…. And believe me he is a busy doctor…. He acted as though if he had all the time in the world and genuinely cared about my issue. Dr. Cobb is the best doctor ever in my book!!! I also want to mention his staff. They are the best as well!!! They work very hard to ensure Dr Cobb’s patients are taken care of before and after he see them. Maria is always so nice to me and very humble just as Dr Cobb 😊

When asked who our PCP is? We always reply we don't have one, but we do have a "Family" doctor!!! Times have changed from yesteryear when all had a 'family' doctor who knew not only you but your History. Not only medical but personal. and he has instilled this same principle to his staff. For instance: 'Doc Cobb' knows that I don't take the flu shot, haven't for 50+ years, and the reason why. From birth till I joined the Army (1968) my Family Doc was Dr Lois Tolen & his wife. 'Doc Cobb' has exceeded that tenure and will thankfully remain our "Family Doc' till we leave this earth.

He truly takes his time and listens and shows empathy and will do whatever it takes to get you feeling better. I know one day he will retire and my family will be devastated. Dr. Cobb is the first doctor I’ve had that actually listens to me and cares about how I feel. And he has a great nurse, Maria, that is on top of everything. They are a great team and I am very pleased with the care I receive.

He always goes above and beyond and cares about each and every patient he has under his care! I have been seeing him for 25 or so years. He takes the time to listen to you and your needs and if you need any other medical attention that needs to be brought up, he will do everything he can to help!

The stall was very upbeat and was quick to see me. The nurse Maria was very helpful and happy to provide my care, she is an angel.The Nurse Practitioner Robert checked in on me to see how I was doing and was truly concerned about my well being. The check in staff was very friendly and seated me since I had already ready checked in on line( great idea for a doctors office since it saves time).The check out team provide following treatment dates and times and was very helpful and friendly. Dr Cobb has always been a blessing and an angel in disguise, his attitude, concern and wellness care is beyond reproach. He has always had my best interest at heart through his testing sand diagnostic procedures. Doctor Cobb has an open ear, approachable. It is a pleasure and I am blessed to have this team as my care givers. A pleasurable bust as usual and would and have recommended them to my friends and looking toward my next visitâ€¦ since I go every two weeks. When you visit that many times it's nice to have a warm, caring and concerned staff taking care of you.

Well I have been going to Dr Cobb for 30 years. He is very thorough and make sure all your needs are taken care of. I was in the hospital Sunday and he sent me in this morning to make sure that I am okay. He is the best.

Dr Cobb and his staff are the best. Dr Cobb has been taking care of me, my children, and my in-laws. For 30+ years. I never have had any complaints. He goes out of his way to make sure we are taken care of. He always goes over and above the call of duty. My daughter was 6 years old and broke her arm. He put a cast on her . But first he put a cast on her stuffed animals arm. She was not scared after that. She is 30 years old now and still talks about that. That’s just one example out of many of him going over and above. I’m very blessed to have him as our physician.

I actually helped an elderly lady (who’s been battling cancer) out by taking her to have her knee seen about... her doctor was Dr Cobb. His patience with her was impressive, the staff was extremely patient as well..especially considering this little elderly lady was NOT making life easy on ANY of us that day;) Although Dr. Cobb told me he is not taking new patients, he made an exception for me, so I’ll be seeing him soon as a patient myself.

Dr Cobb is an excellent doctor. I have been going to him for 16 years now. It is because of Dr Cobb getting me a referral to a neurologist in an extraordinary short time that I am walking and not in a wheelchair. During physicals you get the EKG, chest x-ray, even ultra sounds checking for blockages. He is the best highly recommend

Dr. Cobb has been our family physician since 1997-98 until present. He is always understanding and gives us the time we need to address our issues. We wouldn't consider going to any other family Dr. It's a us getting blood work done right in his office along with x-rays and preventable testing.
